AMA National Postal Contest for "Juniors"

I have been floating the idea of an indoor postal contest with the AMA for a couple of years using Wright Stuff style airplanes typical of Science Olympiad. I have just received their OK to pursue the objective and am now creating rules and guidelines. The main logistics will be handled by AMA headquarters. What the program will allow is for a young person to post their times using their membership number and be able to view their status on-line. We hope to generate some worthwhile prizes to make it worth the effort.

We also hope to give indoor competition an easier greenlight with facilities around the country. Who knows, maybe clubs will get involved with helping groups of students with their airplanes, time flights, post results, reinforce their worth as STEM friendly mentors in school systems.

Since this is very much leading edge stuff, I would like to hear any ideas about handling various aspects such as site categories, validation of flight times, etc.

Thanks to anyone for questions and suggestions.
