Rubber bands are listed on a document that I found showing items that potentially contained latex.
It also listed the elastic in underware.
I don’t believe there is a universal prohibition on these items in all schools. Does his school allow teachers to use rubber bands to hold stacks of papers together? If so, he should be ok.
Peanuts aren’t banned in my school division – 83 schools and almost 49000 students - and neither is latex. However, the clinic uses nitrile gloves and they don’t offer peanuts in the cafeteria and no homemade snacks without the ingredients listed can be shared. But we use rubber bands all the time.
And underware.

Subject: [Indoor_Construction] Tan Rubber

I just received a note from a teacher who wants to start an indoor flying club. But first he wants to confirm if FAI Tan Rubber is made from Latex (which, like peanuts, is forbidden in school).

Can anyone confirm?

Thanks, Tom
