My somewhat successful F1L flies with a propeller that has J of about 23". The propeller diameter is 15". The propeller blade is molded on a prop block with a 23" helical pitch distribution. However, the "pitch" is set at about 31" at the 4.5" radius. I say about because I set the propeller such that the pitch at all radii is 23" plus about 10 degrees. In simpler terms, I want the air foil of the propeller to have an angle of attack (relative to the air flow at all radii) of about 10 degrees at cruise.

Yes, I have verified the J at cruise by measuring the F1L's air speed and propeller rpm. These are my design parameters for the F1L. I say "about" in the above discussion because I play around with the AoA (I have three props that are set at slightly different angles) to tune for a set rpm at cruise (depending on the altitude of the site, etc.).

 Just for your information.
