Re: West Baden Final Scores
Hi Don.
The air on Saturday was the best I have ever seen it in the building. Wow.
Sunday it was quite turbulent in the NW section, same as last year, especially in the morning.
What I realized later was that Saturday it must have been a bit hazier than Sunday. Really bright days mean thermals and turbulence in that sunny area.
Absent this year was the crazy drift into the down draft you saw last year.
Sunday afternoon got hazy then cloudy and the building air got very quiet. Some drift but minimal. The air was good to even very good, just not as spectacular as on Saturday.
One thing we did learn:
If the contest ends at 5:30, it means your model should be DOWN at 5:30, not last launch just before 5:30. You don't want a model up when the air handlers come back on. Even an LPP would get blown out of the air.
Regards.
