The tips can be built separately. Balsa only tips should suffice.
The .060" is for the root of the prop spar. Perhaps it can be less.
For my wing spars that are reinforced with .003" boron, they size at .053 x .040. Using Kevin's carbon lamination, both dimensions can probably be reduced, say to .045 x .035.
