Mike,

With magnets (or rubber bands) one can have the holes less tight so that the parts can be easily disassembled. I suspect everyone has needed to reglue the metal pins at least once. I am just giving a simple way to modify the A2Z pitch gauge to make it easier to disassemble and better able to stay assembled while in use. By the way, I drilled additional holes so that I can measure at half inch intervals.

Finally, A2Z used an Ambroid/Duco type cement on the pins and parts. I find that Ambroid/Duco does not like to stick well to metal. I roughed up the pins and coated the surface to be glued with thin CA. Ambroid/Duco sticks well to dried CA and I used the Ambroid/Duco to reglue the pins. The pins have not loosened since.
