Wonderful post! For those of us who build more clunky stuff (Peanuts, dimers), or who have made their own home-brew razor planes, note that they also sell “single edge, BLUE CARBON STEEL, 3-facet PAL blades.” And for folks contemplating building a razor plane, see “single edge, long carbon steel blades (2 ¼ long cutting edge). Wish I had known about these before I made mine.

 

Prices seem reasonable for high-quality blades.

Dear All
Acidentally came across an unexpected source of what i think are carbon razor blades. The source is Ted Pella Inc. in the U.S. The blades are claimed to be snap to point and are blue which is a result of double draw temper treatment so they might be comparable to star blades and candidus we all use.... I will not investigate these blades further as am well stocked on star and candidus blades but if some are searching for blades this info may help
