Most colleges have some place that is flyable. The trick is finding it. Access, or at least usability, may be seasonal, too. Been there, done that...

Some of my most productive times of model development occurred in college. In particular during the optimal controls class where I managed to get myself talked into using a model for my class project. Definitely learned a lot from that one, but lost a lot of sleep over it, too.
