 Agreed, though I'm even more worried by bald eagles. They think they own the sky. Sure is pretty to look out the window at one off your wingtip, though!
  
 I brought up the Lanzo vs. C-17 thing because of what I've seen of bird and goose strikes on those aircraft. The amount of damage from an impact with anything at 450 kts is unbelievable. A goose, for example, will blow a nose radar to small pieces. That's after it puts a gaping hole in the fiberglass nose cone. Small hail leaves interesting injuries too...

 Please do us all a favor and don't. ;) No, really, the FAA really are that unreasonable.
  
 Thanks for getting ahold of the right folks. Sad to say I don't have the right high-up connections. On the other hand I've got a few political connections (some of whom have already been notified) who might be able to get the ball rolling on that side.
