Mike,

 F1D's usually will not bank to the right and dive into the ground as you have experienced.. I've had that happen on two occasions:
 

 1. My front wing post to motor stick joint was damaged.
 2. I had inadequate decalage.
 

 I believe your problem is probably one of the above. I believe it is likely #2, since your motor sticks are well built. You say that more incidence will hurt cruise. How did you determine you have enough incidence?
 

 I'm not advocating a huge amount of wing twist. With the new rubber configuration, I'm afraid that the motor will not have enough leverage to twist the wing enough. "enough" does not mean "a lot", but enough is enough :)
