I don't think they explode. They're not under a lot of pressure like latex
balloons are. It's more of a slow leak action. We however did see several
Mylar balloons get destroyed one year in Belgrade. People were banging them
into the ceiling where there happened to be rebar or something extending
down. You have to be a lot more careful for sure. I think Lutz made several
of the European fliers' balloons and charged around $150 for them. I think
Larry Cailliau bought one in Belgrade in 2008.
