Bill,

I think I may be a random person they are talking about. I flew LPP this year for the first time at USIC. I used a throwback design IMS LPP with a banks prop. I had only flown it at one other event (West Baden) and have no place to practice in between. I finished 3rd at USIC. It seemed like every time I made an adjustment (except once) my times went up. I was really lucky that day.

How about all those years at USIC when some random person would do well in LPP? I recall one time when some guy who flew LPP with Larry Cailliau in St. Louis who had never been to USIC before got second or 3rd and did a 15: something flight.

How does that make any sense? What records or what contest history are you talking about?

..."records" as in contest history, not AMA records.
