Hi Kevin,

We do exactly what you proposed with the LPP pro-am event at our Nats. I've also had the honor of being loaned an F1D by a multi-time world champion for a flying session back when I first started F1D.

Putting a model in the hands of potentials participants is a great thing. It is also totally separate from the debate over BOM in competition. A loaner model can have its own event, or can be flown for enjoyment/education, without impacting the existing events.
