And therein lies a key difference, Jake.

I don't mind running poplar or balsa blocks through my bandsaw.
I don't mind putting tow in epoxy and wrapping it around a mold.

Making molds though? Not my idea of fun. And you wouldn't want to pay me what it is costs to make one. It would still be cheaper than making your own, but I put about 20 hours in making a single mold ready to make parts.
