Absolutely. As a junior I was quite irritated flying against "daddy"
built models being flown by a kid who was more interested in the RC car
he brought to the indoor nats than flying the plane his dad put in front
of him. So I had to beat the kid and the father. Thankfully my father
gave me a good pep talk on the ride home and it made me put my nose to
the grindstone and "they" never beat me again.

Not sure how the skill and time time a modeler puts into scale detailing
and painting a scale model is somehow more deserving of a BOM rule than
the skill and time a guy must put into their VP prop hub and building a
F1D? I think they are both equally important to the event and both need
to be respected. One of the main reason I am resisting 55cm F1D is the
pure dependency on the VP prop that the new rules have made. Maybe VP
props should be banned and then no reason to buy a VP hub :-) (I am kidding)
