For contests, the FAI rule is in:

B.3.1.a of Section 4b of the Sporting Code (Aeromodelling)

a) Unless stated otherwise, the competitor named on the entry form must be the builder of the model aircraft entered.

For records, the same rule is stated in Section 4C, Part2, at 2.1.3.


The FAI rules are somewhat less detailed than the AMA BOM rule.
