One more, a little later in the day. As I recall (and I may be wrong) Bill said that the tail is dropped not for any particular aerodynamic reasons, but because if it was raised up, it would catch on the ceilings. Every design decision has an up and a down side. The dropped stab catches on sprinkler heads after the rest of the model has overflown them.

 Fish to the recue once more!
