I just finished the balance and the last of the epoxy is setting. Test runs show it super sensitive, and I'd be interested in how Thayer engineered the magnetic damping. Lots of little magnets around here, sitting and doing nothing useful.
As to the additional .01mg weights, a 15mm length of 1/8 aluminum tube, pressed flat, with a 1/16 hole
drilled in one end is .01mg. Make and hang as many as you need to. Not as elegant as Thayer's, but quick, effective and repeatable.

For indoor I would say it's not sensitive enough. You want .001g, not .01g.
