West Baden contest April 5 and 6, 2014

Here's the latest word from Walt on the West Baden contest.

We have a sponsor who is going to pay for one of the two days we're flying. The cost for the remaining day will be $1250 plus 11% tax for either one or both days. I don't know if our benefactor will pay the tax for one day or if we will need to pay the tax for both days. There also will be a charge for 2 tanks of helium and I don't know the cost of that yet. This will put the total cost for us at somewhere around $1600.

Walt has been given assurances that all of this is correct and won't be changed. I am not in the loop on the financial discussions so please be aware that I'm just passing on what I've been told.

I'd like to get commitments from everyone who thinks they will attend so I can set the entry fee. Just as a starting point if we had 20 paying fliers the cost would be about $80 each which is a good bit less than last year.

Also rooms at the hotel will be available for $149 per night plus 11% tax. To get this reduced rate you will need to use the code 0414IND. (IND as in Indoor). As of now my wife is planning to come and we are planning to be there for Friday, Saturday, Sunday and possibly Monday nights.
