My method, probably different from Leo's, is to just jamb it into the tube. The tube will literally cut the excess off. My A6 and F1L wing posts were done exactly this way.

In most cases, this is perfectly adequate. F1D spars being the exception in my opinion, backed by breakage of several done this way. The alternative way is to round them to fit snuggly. I'm pretty sure Leo uses a drawplate for this.
