Re: Re: Any interest in a Group buy of Polyimide tubing?
No $2.25 for one prop. How long do they have to be? I can vary all the dimensions. I shall order some nylon rods and make some tubes to your specs. When I have something to sell I shall tell the group about it.
I find it very challenging just like my prop washers that have lower friction than Teflon. Ciao, Phedon.

It is thicker than needed wall-wise for F1D hubs and the ID is smaller than most use on the wooden spars. This causes a stress point just as the spar exits the tube as you have to remove so much material to jam it into the tube. CA will toughen that point, but adds too much weight. A 0.080" ID tube would be ideal.

And, we can use our cellulous based glues like Ambroid and Duco with polyimide by just coating the polyimide with a thin layer of thin CA. Cellulous based glues adhere well to CA (partially as a result of both being soften by acetone). Five to six pound/CF balsa is weaker than such a joint as I have earned from the polyimide tubes pulling off a layer of balsa rather than the glue joint failing when mishandling or crashing my planes.
