Time frame? The good rubber was probably a 2012 batch or possibly early 2013. The rubber I bought, I don't know, it was ordered from A2Z in mid-2013 but who knows how long ago it was made. We haven't made any comparisons with even older rubber - I have a box of Super Sport I bought in late 2010 from Lee Campbell, we didn't test it because it was 1/16" wide strip, sort of inconvenient for stripping for A6 size motors, seems to fly Delta Darts very nicely, though. We did compare it with some pre-stripped rubber bought earlier from A2Z, the good stuff was much better. (And I do have some OLD grey FAI - I don't think I'll bother testing that..).
  
 I'd heard the story about how the loss of the extra component led to the demise of Tan II (the story I read was the golf ball manufacturers stopped using it, so manufacture stopped). If it's true that it's back, that's excellent news, it means that any batch of rubber being made today will be at least very close to the good stuff and I should be able to go ahead and order some without worry. Since I don't compete (at least, not in Indoor - I'm a CL combat flier) I'm not worried about small differences, but I WOULD like some of this rubber that's so much better than the older stuff I have. It'd be nice to break 3 minutes with my Ikara Carbon Butterfly.
  
 The other worry, of course, is if the magic substance dissapears again.. might as well get some while the going is good!
