I do see however that it could be of benefit to newbies to have someone write up how they get the best out of their rubber generally.
My own technique is to stretch out to about five times length, put in about half the turns I expect, then slowly move in while winding. I tend to dock at about 2/3 max torque and wind slowly to the top, then back off to desired launch torque. I have no idea if that is 'the best' way or not, but I don't seem to break as many motors since I started winding this way.
