One pro for OS film is that you can add more weight in wood rather than covering.

One pro for Harlan's LPP film - You can use blue tape on a balloon (or pole) to aid in recovery. OS film will rip. LPP film will not.
One con for LPP film - It is harder to use the capillary action technique to take up slack...
