I talked to my Apple guy and he says Numbers is the best out there right now. You should be able to import your Excel file and use it as a template. It can also export back to Excel. He says the biggest problem it has when importing Excel files is translating the formatting.
If you want to send me a copy of your Excel file off-list, I can try importing it into Numbers and give it a go. He has it installed.
Regards.
