Bill Gowen did a rigorous analysis several years back, and the results were less than pleasing. I personally have used Ca for making F1D wings back when the elliptical dihedral thing was going on (gave it up because without an elliptical form, no two wings were the same), and they all came out right at the weight I wanted (320-330 mg), so it can be done in some cases.
