14:18 was my only official F1L flight. I had a new space frame wing for my
F1L but it was reduced to confetti by a scale model attack before getting
to fly. I finally gave up on trying to figure out the wing tuck problem on
my other wings and added wing struts to the outboard wing panel. This fixed
the problem enough for the model to launch at a little over .2 in-oz. Even
with the wing struts the launch has to be near perfect to avoid a spin in.
The A6 continues to be amazing. No adjustments were made since it was flown
at West Baden and Kent. All you have to do is wind it up and let it go and
it does another incredible flight.
WIF7 seems to be at the end of it's life. It has developed a severe bunt
that keeps it from launching more than 23'. I spent a lot of time trying to
locate the problem but finally decided it was just tired.
A last ditch effort to put up an official LPP flight while packing up ended
with a wall hit at about 3:40. A quick relaunch gave a total unofficial
flight time of about 9:45.
All in all I think it was one of my better days!
