But the vertical separation can have an effect on the pitching moment
summation of the model due to the low L/D ratios of our airfoils. The
drag on the wing times the post height does effect the neutral point
location calculation. 6" of vertical separation when all 6" is in the
wing post will have a different NP location than the same model with a
3" wing post height and a 3" submounted stab. Those terms can always
be removed from the spreadsheet, or just use 0 for those values. The
only issue I really have for the spreadsheet is the down wash
calculation, it is based of some full size formulas and I am not sure if
at our low speeds there is enough energy in the air to keep the
downwash angle constant all the way to the stab or if there really is
much downwash at all.
