Our kids are heading to the science olympiad nationals at wright state university in dayton, ohio.
We just found out, that this year access to venue before the day of the the event is prohibited. This puts the kids in a horrible bind since we ship all the build project to the nationals site. The gliders have already left the state.
While they will allow trimming between "official" timed flights. This also is a problem. There is 60 preassigned five minute time slots for a 6 hour event. The kids normally need an hour to two to trim their gliders to the right transition height, turn radius and to find the best way to optimize for the room. They have to have all that done before their assigned time slot.
They have to compete against teams that get time slots much later in the day and teams that have competed in the wright state invitational earlier this year. Placing them at an extreme disadvantage.
Can anyone help us find a venue in the area where the kids can trim their gliders?
