Re: Re: 65 cm F1D footage
Microfilm is not gone for me, I just set my tank up and will be pouring
sheets in the next few days. I am actually going to pour ~10 sheets for
a guy who wants to build a F1D but has not because the weight penalty of
OS film over microfilm. He has used microfilm in the past for 65cm and
feels the only way he can get to weight these days is with microfilm
since he tends to build heavy in his older age. Microfilm is the only
way to get him encourage to fly F1D. All my new F1Ds will now be
microfilm as well. The difference of microfilm and Y2K as far as
handling and covering for me at least is minimal. The real difference to
me is that one comes on a roll and the other I make myself. I guess
since I learned with microfilm it is not a big issue for me. I would
much rather cover and patch with microfilm on duration models than Y2K
anyday. Fortunately the F1D rules allow the freedom to choose what a
person is more comfortable with.
