I have to agree! My first experience was at the Kibbe Dome last year. Even though I stayed on the smaller model side, regardless of size, the "magic" of defying gravity with so little power and air frame never ceases to amaze me!

This popped up on Youtube recently, straight from 1985. While I love the current F1D specs and wouldn't change them for anything, this has to be the most beautiful form of flying ever invented:
