What many people do not remember about Cezar is that he was on the podium seven consecutive times for the Indoor World Championships. This run of consecutive podiums matches Jim Richmond's run of seven podiums. Banks seven podium finishes is second only to Richmond's thirteen. Cezar was second four straight times during Jim's four consecutive world championships from 1984 through 1990. Then Banks followed this up with two consecutive second places finishes to Steve Brown in 1994 and 1996. Cezar had more second place finishes, six, than any other flier, including Jim Richmond.

Cezar Banks' Limited Penny Plane may have influenced many fliers but his greatest influence may have been with Science Olympiad planes and fliers. The Banks' Leading Edge SO introduced many high schooners to indoor flying at the beginning of the Wright Stuff era. More recently, FAI Model Supply and A2Z sold Banks designed SO kits that took the place of Ray Harlan's discontinued kits. Bank's SO designs and kits won many SO National, State, and Regional contests.

One of many funny stories about Cezar concern's his rubber lubricant. Cezar used the pink Dow Corning 33 light consistency silicon grease. Cezar never had to worry about running out of this lube. Somehow, he talked his way into obtaining a five gallon pale of the stuff from the maintenance yard for the San Francisco Cable Car. I recall his telling me that the grease was used lube the main cable.

Cezar will be missed by many of us.
