I've had very similar experiences flying F1D's in university buildings. Clemson's architecture dept built a new building recently, and there is a lot of flow of people in and out, often ones not directly associated with the university, and many stop to film the models flying around and ask questions. Unfortunately, it's rare to have a flyable building, and recent changes to their HVAC have made flying much more difficult in there, though not impossible.
