That could well be. I did note that you did a lot of ceiling banging in spite of huge amounts of high pitch, which is indicative of an excessively stiff spring. A slightly softer spring would allow you to decrease the amount of climb while still having a low enough pitch at the torque you select to begin descent. Similar to the issue I was having by switching over to low pitch prematurely and wasting a full minute's worth of energy smacking the ceiling.
