It depends upon how you define "beats".
If we restrict the discussion to Free Flight, then I find it amazing that the basic ancient technology of a rubber band powered, mostly balsa wood model airplane can fly indoors for over 1 hour & that with all of today's technology a battery powered model employing sophisticated electronics & high tech materials has not been able to match the performance. However, that day is probably not far away. Imagine dialing in a max altitude & position and the onboard computer with an altimeter & GPS would keep your Y2K2EZB out of the rafters & no steering would be required. It could even include a "stop watch" to time the flight & an alarm to wake you up when it lands. That high tech. plane may be able to fly longer that 1 hour, but it will be heavier & fly faster that a light weight rubber powered model & the "floating" flight is part of the charm of Indoor Free Flight.

The robobees weight and size beats the lightest EZB's.
