I ended up using a method similar to Joshua's.
I cut a piece of paper the size of the patch needed. I used a glue stick to attach a bit of paper underneath as a sort of 'handle'.
Generously wet the paper with saliva, then plop onto OS Film. Cut with sharp scissors to size.
Spray 3M-77 into air over box and move the film side through the mist. I had to do this a couple of times as it didn't stick at first.
From the bottom of the wing in this case, apply the patch. Let sit a few minutes - as the paper dries, the film comes right off.
Regards.
