That little article had the main "secrets" I used for getting going in F1d. My first two F1ds (BH Big Square) weren't at all competitive, but it seemed so obvious (and enjoyable) to just keep building better, straighter, pay attention to trim, rubber, prop, and react to what they all seemed to indicate. My mentor was via email (SB.) After 4-5 years of building better models, I was competitive enough. The process can be shortened to a year if someone has a local mentor, and/or a place to fly. JMO.
