Hi Ren,

I am assuming you are talking about photo 2535 but I may be wrong. If that is the one you are talking about the Little Zephyr on the right is covered with dyed condenser paper that was first bleached white and then dyed orange. Of course when the paper is soaked in the process it shrinks and gets wrinkly. Before the paper was applied to the model it was ironed quite flat but there were still some little ridges of the wrinkles in the paper. They are really quite flat but can be felt if you rub a fingernail over the paper. The light from the camera flash just really reflected a lot of the light back from the wrinkles making them really stand out. The paper as applied has a texture you can feel but is not as wrinkly as it looks.

The model on the left is covered with the 1/4 mil Mylar. After the Mylar is dyed it too has a lot of wrinkles in it. To get them to relax and lie flat I laid the Mylar on a stack of paper and went over the Mylar with a covering iron set at about 275 derees F and that really removed a great deal of the wrinkles in the Mylar.

Because both the paper and Mylar were between layers of cheese cloth as they were being dyed there is a very slight impression of the cheese cloth in both but I consider that similar to wading up the covering an then smoothing back down as some users of these types of covering material do.

Sorry the light makes it seem there are large wrinkles in the condenser paper.

Tom
