Wha chu talking about, Kagan? I was very pleased to see you and Sanborn at MY F1D Regional!

I'm holding my next F1D qualifying contest in Guam.

John, someday, somewhere, the favor shall be returned :)

=====

A little context for everyone: The F1D team is selected based on the total of Qualifying points (100 max) and Finals points (1000 max). Maximum points are earned for the winner of the contest -- other fliers earn a percentage of the maximum points based on their flight times compared to the winner's.

At the Finals, every point is important. Every 10 points is worth about 30 seconds on each flight. You don't want to spot that much time to your competition. Hence, someone who comes to the Finals with 90 points from Qualifying has to make up a significant amount of time against someone who already has 100 points.

Kagan and Sanborn wanted me to sweat for my 100 points, and they showed up unannounced at the December contest in Atlanta. Kagan won the contest, Coslick got 95 points, and I got 91. So I am now secretly planning the my next F1D Qualifying contest.

As it turned out, there was some great flying at the contest. Kagan ran away with the win, but the rest of us weren't too far behind. We had 4 F1D's in the air in the small St. Luke's gym. I personally enjoyed the contest immensely and am very glad that John and Brett showed up.

We propose that in the future, all F1D qualifying contests must be announced with 1 or 2 weeks advanced notice. This way, no F1D flier can escape Kagan and Sanborn !
