Your remark on the possibility of a trailing edge effect device is so far the only piece of advice I've seen that represents something down the right track.

All of these models are built to typical F1D weights and fly a conventional or forward of conventional CG. I'll add that they are flying bricks in my opinion...and in the opinions of fellow fliers.
