*No, the availability of the ETSU Mini-Dome in Johnson City, TN has not
changed.
Thanks to Mike Kirda, John Kagan, and all for finding a new site for the
annual AMA Indoor FF Nats.
Attached should be a photo of the Mini-Dome parking lot that is being
converted into a 5-level parking garage. This photo is about a month old
but it looks about the same now.
Installation of the new basketball lighting and banners was scheduled to
begin yesterday and continue for about 2 weeks.
About 2 weeks ago as I walked through a campus building, I saw Kim
Young's smiling face. She said that there was no change in plans or
status of the dome regarding the indoor FF contest. She has arranged
special events such as our contest for several years.She also said to
say hello to Abram VanDover.
Nevertheless, I decided to hit the Mimi-Dome ceiling and/or rafters
again for you and did so this past week with an old rubber-powered
Federation ROG and with an old (rules) electric that had been converted
from a Ray Harlan Big Dipper Science Olympiad plane. Neither plane had
been flown for 3 years but reaching the ceiling has rarely been a
challenge. Long fights frequently are!
