I think it depends on what the ultimate intent of this braced class of EZB is. I am assuming that at the end of this experiment there is a porposed rules change coming.
Bracing the motor stick with balsa trades off a stiffer motor stick at the expense of potentially extra weight, but not necessarily. Cleaver people will have fun with this "rule".
Allowing rolled tubes, boron, etc. will also result in stiffer motor sticks, but it will also most certainly result in even lighter EZB's.
The question is are even lighter EZB's in the best interest of EZB?

Why limit types of bracing? Let people use what they have on-hand whether they use wire, thread, boron - should it matter if the intent is to make EZB more attractive?
