Charlie Sotich used simplex airfoils on at least some of his outdoor
ships. He had a A-2 design called the Draw Dip that had not only diagonals
but a parabolic platform. All of the ribs were cut from a simplex template
and then cut off at the rear to match the length required. As I remember
all of the ribs came out with the high point in the right place as shown by
the covering shape. Very complicated looking structure but they went to
gether rather quickly.
