I wouldn't be opposed. I personally don't think non-BoM would be as valuable for non-beginners, but the success or failure of the new event would be the best indicator.

In general, I'm a lot more comfortable with trying out a new event than making a drastic change to an existing one. The only trouble with that is coming up with a way to prune events. We've got a ton of them.
