At the school I mentor, next week we will have the class build a
catapult glider from foam except for the fuse stick, their design but
must be made from 2 9" foam plates.
Contest will be to fly the furthest down the hallway without touching
any surface. They will be using a fixed catapult (same for everyone)
with a stretch limit.
After that we'll probably build Dennydarts from stock balsa and tissue
and have a comp in the gym for max time.
This is an extra credit technology class. We just finished a Trebuchet
design, build and compete in a "punkin chunkin" contest, the boys took 2
second places.
