I sent this out to participants earlier today:
I will be leaving Chicago at 3PM on Friday afternoon after my kids get out of school.
We should be able to get to Urbana by 7PM.
Between 7:30 and 10PM, there is an indoor R/C group flying in the Armory – I heard that they are from Horizon Hobbies.
I plan to head over there to hand out some flyers, pull out and set up tables, put up some signs for Saturday, etc.
Everyone is welcome to come in, see the space and start getting set up.
Parking after 5PM in Lot E12 (south of the Armory, next to Huff Hall) is allowed.
http://www.parking.illinois.edu/campus_map/map2-2.html for a map.
For Saturday, the Armory doors should be open at 6am. Balloons will be delivered at 6am.
Please note that entrance into the building is on the west side or south side.
The entrance into the space itself is along the west side close to the south entrance on the west side.
There are doors in the middle of the building on the south side (E5 on the map above) – Please do not enter here.
There is no direct entrance to the space and it will adversely impact internal air conditions.
Regards.
Mike Kirda
PS. I imagine you could put up a flight or two between 6-7:30PM. You might need to pay the $3 entrance fee and I cannot guarantee what the configuration will be like. Walkers/runners have priority over us at that time so be aware of that.
