My own preference would be to start without and then make my own decisions
on mods; this is driven at least partially by me being a lefty, and like
many lefties, I do lots of stuff righty - or sometimes lefty-righty-lefty -
and often what looks as if it should work for me as a lefty does not because
in actuality, I perform the task as a righty (e.g., scissors - I can't use
left-handed scissors any better than a righty can!).

Yours in hopes of confusing the issue as much as possible,

John

Ok, I see it now. This includes a base piece and with the pin would not be
wide enough for the nearly 8" wide F1D ribs.

I had envisioned the buyer using carpet tape to hold it to a cutting mat
like this:
http://www.cutting-mats.net/1067.html

No other base was planned at that $20 price level.
Something certainly could be cobbled together, or a base like that could be
produced. I personally wouldn't want one that way, but now I can see why
others might.

So what say potential buyers? Would you want this as an option automatically
or to do on your own?

Regards.
