Soldering update

You may recall I was trying to solder .032" music wire inside a brass tube of the same I.D.
I carefully cleaned the components with fine emery paper & alcohol.
I found that tin/lead solder in both rosin & acid core are readily available, but not at Lowes & presumably Home Depot. I found it at an Ace hardware store.
As an experiment I tried rosin core 96% tin/4% silver, 60% tin/40% lead & 63% tin/37% lead with a rosin flux. None produced a satisfactory result on the steel music wire part of the joint.

What did work was Alpha .062" diameter acid core 40% tin/60% lead solder (note the high lead content) with Alpha FRY soldering past flux. This is a "non-electrical" flux containing zinc chloride.

Thanks to evryone who provided suggestions.
