DON'T use rosin core. That stuff is strictly for electrical connections. You can guess how I found that out.

You can get a little tin of acid type flux from the plumbing dep't at the hardware store. To stay on the safe side, extend the tube over the wire so you're gripping at least a half inch with the solder. Then neutralize the finished joint with a baking soda slurry. I also use a 145w soldering gun. It gets in and out quick.

Sta-Brite Silver Solder is the best for all modelling applications, but if you have to buy it over the internet the S&H can kill. I buy it anyway, because it's pretty much worth whatever it costs.
