I am trying to solder a piece of .032" Dia. music wire inside a brass tube with the same I.D. I cannot get the solder to stick to the steel wire. I have cleaned the wire with sand paper to remove any protective coating, if there was one. The wire is not stainless steel. I am using 96% tin/4% silver rosin core solder. I have considered using .032" brass wire, but this is a winding hook & I am not sure if it will hold up to the torque of winding indoor scale motors. Any soldering suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Gary Hodson
